DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is the official diploma in Spanish as a foreign language, issued by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of Spain's Ministry of Education.

- Grading
- Pass / fail
- Results read Apto (pass) or No apto (fail). The tests are scored in two groups, and you must pass each group. A strong result cannot make up for a weak one.
- Validity
- For life
- The diploma never expires and is recognised internationally. Spain accepts DELE A2 or higher for the language requirement in nationality applications.
- Results
- 2–3 months
- About 2 months after the written tests (3 for May and November). Instituto Cervantes emails you, and you download your certificate, plus the diploma if you pass, from their portal.

Do you register me for the exam?
No. You register yourself, through the official Instituto Cervantes shop or your local exam centre. We choose the sitting together and keep an eye on the deadline.
Which level should I take?
We decide together after the level check. Each DELE exam certifies one level, so we pick the one you can reach by your exam date.
How many lessons do I need?
There is no fixed number. It depends on your starting level, how far away your exam is, and how much you practise between lessons. We review your progress as we go and adjust the plan to you.
Can you guarantee that I pass?
No one can honestly guarantee a pass. What I can promise is that you will have practised every task type and sat timed mock exams before exam day.
Can I prepare in a duo or a small group?
Yes, if you take the same level on the same or a similar date. Duo lessons are 18 USD per student, small groups 14 USD per student.
